Do you know any "discrete" app that avoids to display private messages and even if "a friend" calls you?

You could set up a Google Voice number and use the Google Voice app in your phone. Just turn off notifications for Google Voice and all incoming calls/messages coming to that number will not show up until you open the app.

I live in Italy and Google Voice isn't available. What's more, the service is going to be dismissed.
