Ok... What about data usage... If i am not streaming but listening to what i have installed using google music player...

It's still streaming unless you have it locally on your phone or SD card.

You can select the Play Music app to show Downloaded music only (which includes any music tracks you transferred directly to the phone). Playing those songs should prevent it from trying to stream it. However, be aware that the app will probably still use some data, because it may intermittently sync with your Google account.

Not sure what foreground and background mean? I am not streaming music just using app to listen to music i have downloaded onto device thru another source
