how to use toolbox date command

Hi All ,
I launch simulator at my PC then use adb -s emulator-5554 shell enter simulator file system .
when I try to set time and date use following command

root@android:/ # date 201101061200
time 201101061200 -> -762401712.0
root@android:/ # date
Sat Nov 3 21:44:50 GMT 1945
root@android:/ #

it is not working . how can I use it ?

From system/core/toolbox/date.c:

fprintf(stderr,"%s [-s 20070325.123456] [-u] [date]\n", argv[0]);

so try:

date -s yyyyMMdd.hhmmss
