Background: I am currently on iOS but looking to switch to Android.
I use iTunes U to play MP3's of old radio drama's. The reason I use this app is for the feature of having the MP3's listed as played and unplayed. Plus I can sync right from iTunes.

Now I know Android and iTunes does not mix. So I am wondering if anyone knows of an app that would allow me to play MP3's from a micro SD card (if I get a phone that has that) or right from the phone, has a Podcast like played/unplayed indicator next to the file name.
There is probably a podcast app out there that does this, but I have not found one that allows play off a memory card.

Are you looking for an app that resumes your MP3 where you left it? There are a few audiobook players that do that. "Material Audiobook Player" is my favorite. It will resume your MP3 where you've left it the last time. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a read/unread marker. Give it a try though. It's a free app.
