My android use to play music just fine. The last thing I remember doing with my phone before the music stopped playing: I was deleting seeming useless apps and/or apps that I didn't think I would ever really use on a regular basis. Why? So that I could clear some space to fill up with more music (...should have waited until I got an sd card). So, I download my android with all this music (mp3 files) and every music player that I have tried so far (including the original player that use to pick up the music) is reading "0 songs" when I try to play music. I must have deleted something that had something to do with this problem but what could it be? Help.

You could have deleted an app or service that is needed to play the music. If you have those files try restoring them back to the device. Otherwise, you can try downloading another media player from the Play Store and see if that helps.

First, verify that your music is not located in a folder (or parent folder) starting with a period ("."). This will hide the files from the Android media indexer. Also verify there are no files called ".nomedia" in the folders with your music.

If that wasn't your problem, go to App Manager (in Android settings) and under "All Apps" find the "Media Storage" app. Tap "Clear Data" under that app, then reboot your device. This will force Android to re-index your music.
