How can I get rid of annoying ads?

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy prevail LTE (also known as Core) and I'm wondering how did I get ads on my phone when I open up some apps. Did I download an app that caused it? Please help. Thanks.

Yes, some free apps and games are ads-supported.
You had better review its Permissions required and double check whether it is ad-free before you get an app from Google Play or Amazon Appstore.

Yes at the time I really wanted the so because of what I needed it for and at the time didn't care. But yes I usually don't read the permissions to be honest with you.
