Issues with stock email app

I'm experiencing problems with the stock email app on my Tesco Hudl2 tablet, problems are:
Emails not updating, either by swiping down or selecting refresh
On opening an email, the body of the email is not displayed

This used to work, my girlfriend has a Hudl2 & hers works fine. I am also unable to send feedback about this from this app, have not found the app in the Play store and cannot find it in the list of apps in settings, so feel a bit stuck. Any advice on what to do appreciated.
