    Ok, I have read on this forum, and Crackberry forum that allegedly ES File Explorer is malware sending your information to some Chinese government servers or some such thing. I figure with the knowledge base of people here, this allegation can either be confirmed or put to rest. So is ES File Explorer malware or not?

    I have never heard anything like this and use es file explorer on my tablet..

    No, it can't be considered malware. There were some security concerns when accessing cloud storage and apparently the problem was fixed. No problem at all if you use it just locally. Check this thread and the link included for more information.
