An interesting issue about Android Pay

I am using a Moto X 2014. I got the device incompatible notification earlier when my phone was on 5.1 due to root and xposed. Tried all the methods I could find but failed.
Yesterday I got it upgraded to 6.0 and I successfully add the card through Android Pay before I rooted my phone. Here is what happened: after I rooted it and got xposed installed, the incompatible notification is back and I lost those two cards I have set up in the apps.....
Does anyone have the same issue? I mean, the already set up cards are gone after root.

Based on multiple threads, it seems that Android Pay purposely does not work on rooted phones due to the lack of a validated security model, or something like that.
