Have searched web awhile unsuccessfully looking for a simple Android plain text app that:

    • Is freeware without any ads.
    • Only saves as dot txt. Thus no formatting, no rich text, just ascii text only.
    • Wraps text entry for display without adding carriage returns and line feeds unless one actuates the Enter key.
    • Does not while typing text annoyingly display what it thinks I will be typing.
    • Does not while typing text annoyingly display spelling or grammatical corrections.
    • Remembers the last folder location the app saved a file to in order to save the current to.

There are of course many commerce sites, download sites and discussion forums recommending text editors and notepads but almost every one is for complex apps like Evernote or OneNote or wordpad etc. Sure such apps like all text editors and word processors have text only output options but one has jump through hoops to set such up in configurations because defaults are invariably for formatted text. And if such is set up for txt, it may not be so the next time if one had used a formatted mode the previous app open. When one pastes formatted text into notepad, it always removes all formatting every time always, and as such is a very useful tool for advanced computer users. Thus is useful as a scratch pad for copy and paste operations or saving simple information in temp files.

Give Jota Text Editor a try.

There seems to be a newer version "Jota+ Text Editor", but it is trial version with ads.
