    I recommend Privacy Knight.
It's small (2.4M) but really powerful and it's free without any ads.
    Alibaba Group made it.

You can use it to lock apps, hide photos/videos, catch intruders (the feature I like most) and clean browser history, etc.
It contains various Unlocks, like fake cover, fingerprint, pattern, even face lock.

You can get it on Google play store

Most of these apps tend to prevent others from checking out your phone, like pictures you may want to hide from a friend or a family member. I am doubtful that they can prevent other apps from accessing the data especially with the storage permission granted, unless they explicitly say that they encrypt the data before saving it. My point is that password protecting the access of your data from humans is not the same as storing it encrypted in the hard drive to prevent other apps from reading the data.
