Is it possible to use Google maps without using data? I'd like to get directions to a place and then be able to save them for offline use.

Looks like this isn't going to work. I'm going from FL to WV. No option to save the route. I wrote out the directions on paper, so I guess I'll have to rely on that (at least until data cycle resets).

For that route to work you'd have to download ALL areas from FL to WV. If you just want the directions and not the turn-by-turn navigation, you can share those for offline use from the SHARE button (or from the website), but it's just as printing them: you won't have the voice telling you where to turn, just a list of directions that you'll have to look for.
