Gmail keeps signing out of yahoo mail account

Hi,
Starting today I have an issue with the linked yahoo email account not being able to sign in with Gmail. It keeps prompting be to sign in again. Once I do the account works, but a short while later I get signed out again. Is anyone else experiencing this? Maybe there is an issues on the app side, or a setting fix. In case it matters, I am using a Honor 8.

Using a web browser, go to Yahoo.com, view your account settings. See if you need to turn on the option to allow the "less secure" legacy apps.

Thanks, didn't see that option in my settings. Anyway, I downloaded the yahoo mail app. Didn't really want to have two separate email apps. I might try again in like a week and see if the same issue happens.
