Looking for a simple music player app that will play my local Android resident music on my moto g without getting tangled up with the Internet, streaming, and syncing functions that seem to dominate players I've poked around with so far. I don't mind those functions as long as they are safely tucked behind menus but not on the display where I am selecting and playing music. Thus plays music like one might have on say one of the SanDisk Sansa mp3 players. Popular music players I've looked at just annoy this person.

The stock moto g player is Google Play but one needs a club trying to stop it from plaguing operation with ads, music suggestions, changing screen displays, and Internet "help". All my 200 plus classic rock songs have complete and accurate metadata, I have no interest in getting revised by some auto robot function. Also don't want annoying buttons ready to shuffle, sort, create playlists, or favorite lists with one false bump. Also loaded BlackPlayer but it tends to do just that instead of putting those functions behind a menu where they ought to be. I have many playlists already in nice sequences I just want to be left alone. I don't mind paying for something I can configure for the above.

Try MortPlayer Music. It still has ads, though, but hopefully they're not too aggressive.
