apndroid alternative? Not working in gingerbread.

I am currently using an motorola cliq xt running 2.1 using no data plan and I disable 3g and edge by using apndroid. Recently, I downloaded the CM firmware which runs on 2.3.3, but after I loaded apndroid and disabled and edge, but it is still using 3g. I would like to use an app which does the same thing. I don't know if juicedefender works okay. Thanks.
