Is there a Twitter app available WITHOUT push notifications? I'd like to just check tweets when I want, upon opening an app instead of having every tweet pushed to my device.

    Thanks.

I think most twitter apps allow you to turn off notifications. I'm currently using Plume which is a great Twitter app and you can disable "Notify on new Tweets" in the setup menu. That may just turn off the notifications.

You can also disable "Background updates and notifications."

Ok, thanks for the info. Yeah, I'd like one that doesn't run in the background too.

Argh, there are so many Twitter apps in the Market! Overwhelming! I just want a simple one, only for Twitter that is well organized. And one that I can upload photos with.

Ive always liked tweetdeck as well. I prefer tweetcaster pro, I but i only got it because it was the free app on Amazon a bit ago. Check out tweetdeck before twitter themselves ruin it if its still around. Should be free too.

Twicca is one more if you feel like checking a lot out.

Just bought TweetCaster Pro. Does what I need and looks nice. I wish it integrated more with media. Like the ability to send a video from my gallery to TCP. Right now I send it to YouTube then share it with TCP from here.

Overall, good app. Shake to refresh is cute!

I have and really like TweetCaster. I considered the Pro version, but my needs are pretty basic and I've heard that Pro has some issues.

I haven't had any issues with the pro version. It just takes away the ads, which I find annoying. Plus, I like to support good developers.

I use twicca with notifications set to off in the settings. I don't use Twitter much so it stays out of the way until I want it.
