ZTE 817 won't open OneClickRoot

OneClickRoot.apk for Android, downloaded per the instructions on DiskDigger, phone will not open it. I'm in adm mode, debuggng enabled, all the hoops jumped thru, and no root.

Did you tap it from a file manager? What message, if any, did you get? Does the documentation say that it works on the ZTE 817, running the version of Android you're running? (Rooting depends on the phone and the version of Android. What works on one won't work on another. These "one click" apps and programs detect the phone and the version of Android, then contact their server with that information and, if the server has a rooting method for that combination, it sends it to the app.)

If it's not intended for the ZTE 817, or for the version of Android you're running, it won't work.

(If you're talking about the ZTE Reef, released in 2013, there's probably no way to root it any more. I doubt that anyone would have kept the file that would have rooted it for 5 years.)
