Looking for simple music record app

There are way too many audio recording Apps too try.

I want to record my grandson's music teacher demonstrating his lessons

I don't want to do complex editing tasks. At most, clip some stuff from the beginning or end. And, I can live without that.

I want a record button, a level control, and that's it.

The closest I have found has way too much compression. You can't tell the difference between loud and soft on playback.

So what phone to do you have? I mean the stock one on Samsungs are pretty good IMO and I use it to record lectures. You just go into the settings to just convert the quality to high quality.

I have the US Moto G6 Play, XT1992-9.

I need a manual record level control. The excessive compression used in most apps to eliminate the need for the need for a manual level control makes it almost impossible to tell the difference between the teacher playing loud or soft. Dynamic range is important in music.
