WhatsApp account transfer to new phone but same sim

I want to change/put my Sim to new phone.
Do I need to install the WhatsApp first?
How can I get all data from old phone to new phone?

On the old phone - there is a backup option in the Whatsapp settings, use that and back up to your Google Drive. Once done, you can remove your SIM to move it to the new phone.

On the new phone - put in the SIM card and sign in to the same Google account as was used on the old phone. When registering Whatsapp it should recognize that you have the same number and same Google account and offer to restore the backup or the ability to do so will be there in settings.

FYI - this is ALL covered on FAQs on the Whatsapp page, I just can't get there when I'm at work. The only thing that may not backup and restore will be images.
