Specs say 1.6A. I have had no issues with my phone charging when running NAV and music/podcasts.

I was always under the impression that when using data, charging will be capped at 500 mA.

How's charging though? I have a Nexus 6 so it has a pretty hefty battery. I don't want to choose between charging and android auto

I use a nexus 6 and it charges while using nav and streaming google play music. When I say charge I mean it actually goes up in % but it does it slowly.

I suppose it depends if you're using a quality cable. 28/22 AWG or better.

Anyone of you guys want to run an app like Ampere and post the results?

FWIW when I talked to Pioneer they told me 1A.

The way I figure it is if I need to charge that badly, I'll do so (Quick Charge FTW) and play music over Bluetooth for that time.
