no voice command or mobile apps in AA

when connected to Bluetooth able to access my mobile apps and voice command (sync 3 '17). but as soon as I connect to AA through USB mobile apps and voice command go dead & blank not high lighted. (am using google maps not factory installed maps). i then have maps and everything else AM, FM,Sirius and synced apps ex Amazon Music. does anyone know how to turn on voice command and mobile apps back on in AA? . doing a lot of head scratching

Push the mic button on the AA screen in your car. Or, at least in my car, hold down the talk button on the steering wheel.
