Drop-Down Music Notifications

For some time now, the two music apps I use the most (Pandora and Tunein) have displayed new song titles as they play as drop-downs on my Escape's head unit over Google Maps. It's possible other music apps do this, too - I just don't use anything else. For whatever reason, this hasn't seemed to be too intrusive, and I never gave it much thought. However, it appears the newest version of AA has started to do this on my phone's screen when using AA in my Focus. This, unfortunately, is very distracting to me, and I can't find an option to turn off this behavior. Any ideas? Searching hasn't found anything.
