Clarification on do not disturb

So when I got this phone I wanted to watch videos or play games with no interruption a.k.a do not disturb. But what I got was disturbed.

So I don't go to the movies anymore so to watch I wait for its TV debut. I had watched iron man 3 and through out the movie it kept mentioning new York (the avengers) I tried search and search but no listing of it on TV.

So about a week ago I got a deal of Amazon prime trial so I searched and there it was, the avengers free.

So finally got to watch it and turned on dnd and in the middle of watching I got a freaking call, and checked that dnd was still on! What's the deal?
