This is a recurring issue for me on many forums, but here is as good a place as any to ask...
Is there any way to visit the site and login (or while logged in) without having my "last read" pointers changed? It's very frustrating to login to post a comment on the blog, or arrive here as a result of a Google search, only to have the site lose track of which messages I've read and which ones I haven't.
I know some sites keep track on a per-thread basis, which isn't an ideal solution, but seems to be an improvement. Is there any way to set that up here on a user-by-user basis, or some other way to address my issue?
