I had one of these bad boys on Cellular One back in the day! Back when when:

Phones were for phone calls
Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet
Porn was on giant VHS tapes that you had to go to a store to buy
Video games were sitting on top of your TV and had ****ty looking games on them
Only the military had GPS
Only Boy Scouts had a compass
If you needed to make a note of something you did it with pen and paper
A calendar was paper too
You had to actually LEARN people's phone numbers
The only way to watch your favorite TV show on your phone was to sit your favorite TV on top of your phone
The only way to listen to music on the go was a Sony Discman and it held approximately 10 songs
If you wanted your friends to know what you were doing and feeling(or anything else), you had to call them. One by damned one
If you wanted to know the weather you had to watch the weather channel which was on TV and trapped in your living room
The only way to get news was TV and Newspapers

But somehow we survived those dark days, and now we have EVOs. Ain't progress great?

This thing was a tank, solid metal and a swiveling camera for god knows what reason. I dropped it, kicked it, washed it, ate it, and never charged it and this thing would not quit. Hell of a phone if you just need calls. I still got it :p

Good old Nokia, I had one on AT&T back when AT&T was the network to be on. Probably '95 or so. I upgraded to the vibrating battery (remember when the vibrate feature needed a special battery?) but I didn't get the replacement antenna that blinks when a call comes in. :)

I don't go that way back. I only got a cellphone in 2005, lol. Didn't want one before it.

Started with Cingular in 05. Had the RZR (Still have it). Cingular then switched to ATT like we all know. Then my ipod got stolen out of my car and I wanted a new phone; so, I got the first 8gb iPhone on edge. I hate the iPhone but I guess I have to give it something: First "Smart"phone I owned. Kinda like training wheels. lol. Too bad Windows Phone 7 wasn't out then with all those big blocks on the screen.

After I had enough of the iPhone I got the BlackBerry 9000. Had to pull some strings to get it for 200 bux since I had no upgrade. After I had enough of the ATT prices I switched to Sprint. Got the BlackBerry 9630. Tried to hold off for the 9650 but it was taking forever and I needed to swith asap. Summer came around and I sold my Iphone, and Blackbery 9630 (9000 won't turn on for some reason) and bought the EPIC 4g the day it came out.

Now, I sit here waiting with my upgrade hoping there is a good new phone coming out soon. Otheriwse I guess I'll get the Nexus S when it comes to Sprint and ride it out for a while. Hate the Keyboard on the Epic. Don't use it.

I had two temporary hand me down phones in highschool just to finish of contracts; nokia 3130 and motorola timport p180 (i think).

My first acutal cellphone I purchased and paid for my self was the Nextel Motorola I95....probably the badest ass phone ever.

I had a Star Tac on Verizon (when it was Bell Atlantic) and one on Cingular. I also had a Timeport, which is enshrined in my office. That was a GReat phone. My first experience with bluetooth came on the Motorla A710. That was the first hackable phone that I owned. Ah, memories. We just need Tim Allen to drop by and start grunting about More Power. LOL

If I remember correctly the big deal about the TimePort on VZW was it was Color! It had Red, Blue and Green LED's! ;)

LOL. I never heard that one! Back then, reception for the PHone! was actually important. Timeport, like the Star Tac, were great PHones. They also had good contact management. The Timeport's data could easily be backed up to the PC, a feature that a lot of phones lacked. The software can still be downloaded (hey, for Windows 98!)

I had a few "family" phones in High School, but the LG VX10 was the first phone that was mine! I was just happy to have a "flip phone" so I wouldn't have to use the Nokia at work any more, lol.
