Cons: No NFC, Snapdragon 430, 720p 5.5” screen

Moto G5 Plus (unlocked)

Pros: Snapdragon 625, 32GB storage, plain stock Android, lightweight metal/plastic build, Moto actions, good camera, 1080p 5.2” screen, front speaker, 3000mAh battery, fingerprint sensor

Cons: No NFC, 2GB RAM, somewhat dim display, huge ugly camera

Moto G5S Plus (unlocked)

Pros: 5.5” 1080p display, bright screen, Snapdragon 625, 3GB RAM, 3000mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, pure stock Android, full metal build, Moto actions

Cons: Huge ugly camera, no NFC

ZTE Blade V8 Pro (unlocked)

Cons: Stuck on Android 6.0

+1 for the G5S+. I bought one and it's pretty good. Funny that the international G5 models include NFC and not in the States.

Why not buy a refurbished flagship phone that will still get Oreo or better. Even the Galaxy S4 still has better hardware specs than a J7. But, newer models can be had for what your asking.

I want a new phone, not used or refurbished. I’ll probably get the T-Mobile Galaxy S7 for $423 on Samsung’s website.

From my experience t-mobile branded samsung devices are pretty awful. IMO id' go with the G5 Plus + (s). Even if it has an "ugly camera" youll be unlocked and carrier wear free which to me is BIG factor...
