Does he have to start his game from beginning?

Hi my son had an android tablet and it crashed somehow,I'm buying a new one for him.He's mine craft addicted!!! So he is so concern that he should start over his entire game from beginning in a new device. Is this correct or there is anything he can do to play from what he was before?!

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not too familiar with the Minecraft app for Android--do you know if he was asked to create an account, or log in with Facebook or Google+? If not, then it's unlikely that his progress was saved anywhere besides the tablet's storage--so when it crashed, he lost all of his progress as well. Sorry!
