It's a developer PREVIEW. of course there are issues, and many of them. Not for daily driver phones. Only for playing a round.

I agree and disagree. Both last year and this year they've been more than fine for dd in my experience. I have a friend who had issues with one app force closing, otherwise haven't heard of any issues. I'm running it myself without issues, so asking how everyone else's experience is going.

You can do what ever you wish . Developer previews are not made for people to upgrade to and use on their personal daily phones.

the nexus 6P is not getting android 9
Which makes sense. They were guaranteed 2 years of updates and received that already.

Not even remotely interested in it for cosmetic reasons alone. I trust, though, that Google will pay whoever developed that Flux White Substratum theme for openly stealing that developer's design. (Which, mind you, they can keep and shove where the sun don't shine.)

I think it's a little silly to hold a patent or ownership on colors and shapes.

    Just checked this out https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...bstratum&hl=en

This definitely looks similar to the new settings menu:

On the other hand, it also looks like what Google Voice has looked like for a long time since the app and desktop refresh, so I'm not sure I can agree that Flux did it first, I honestly don't know. It could be that both are simply following material design guidelines.

In all seriousness, neither person invented the shapes or colors. Like I said, it's silly.

I agree it is silly, but Apple has made a good business out of patenting silly things.

Heck, which manufacturer was it that recently (last year or so) had to pay big bucks because they dared to use rounded corners on their device in "violation" of an Apple patent?

I remember the suit (by Apple, of course) over Microsoft stealing the "look&feel" of a windowed OS - the one Apple had stolen from Xerox PARC.

I've tried out the reviews. Noting that matters. I can wait until the phone updates. (If this is the direction "updates" are heading - look, feel and virus protection, I can stay with KitKat if they just kept the protection fixes coming. Or "has everything that can be invented already been invented" ... again?)

Interesting, I'm not getting an iOS vibe. To me iOS has always been about clutter, neon colors and frosted elements. Not seeing that anywhere in P. What looks similar to you?

I cannot unlock the bootloader on my PIxel 2 XL to downgrade back to Oreo. I have done two factory resets and tried fastboot. At first after activting "developer options" the unlock bootloader option was greyed out, after the factory reset it allows me to select the unlock bootloader option and asks me for my pin. I enter my pin and nothing happens, the bootloader remaines locked. I have opened a ticket with Google and sent them a bug report. My Pixel 2 XL was purchased from Google so its not the VZW issue of locked bootloader.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
