I have tried to load apps & apks from Google playstore with same problem. Will not let me uninstall apps thru settings or Google play. Cleared cache & data from the com.google.android.package installer and force stopped it as well. Rebooted box no changes & also did a factory reset of box with no changes to package installer message. I am not a super techie, my wife is more so. Can this be fixed fairly easy?

What's the brand and model name/number of the box? Did it come with the Play Store preinstalled, or did you have to install it yourself?

Thx B. Diddy! The tv box in question a S10 R-TV 3GB/16GB with message .com.google.android.package installer has stopped. Box came with the playstore preinstalled.

Normally, I'd suggest booting into Safe Mode, or wiping the cache partition, but I'm not sure if that's possible on a TV box. Try some of the steps here: https://tvmediaboxes.com/how-to-reset-android-tv-box/ (but instead of choosing Wipe Data, see if there's a Wipe Cache Partition option).
