what is difference between Android TV and Andoid mobile OS?

I purchased a google android TV box but find I can not do with it what I had expected. My thinking was , I know Adroid.......
I can watch TV on my phone that the Google TV wont let me. I should have guessed there would be some kind of restrictions.

Android TV is designed specifically for a TV interface and for TV viewing, so it certainly won't be as versatile as the regular Android interface on a phone or tablet. Remember also that TVs won't have the processing horsepower or the same amount of dedicated storage that a phone or tablet has, so the more pared down it is, the better.

What kind of TV can you watch on the phone that you can't on your Android TV? It might be some kind of service that's a bit shady, that you're able to find workarounds on a phone, but won't on Android TV due to its limitations.

Yep Android TV is not Android phone..... the Amazon firesticks are much more versatile, they will run anything an Android phone or tablet will run. That's what I use over Android TV for streaming.
