Question on Contacts

I am new to Android Wear and have the iPhone 6s. My question is around contacts.

I have allowed the Android Wear app on my phone access to my contacts, however only my google contacts show up on my watch. Can I override the contacts to use on the phone contacts and not my google contacts?

Also I am forced to use google-only contacts, I have photos assigned to some contacts and the photos do appear in the contacts app on the watch, however when I get a message message notification from that use, that photo does not appear on the watch, just the standard message notification icon. Is that be design or a flaw somewhere?

How did you enable AW app to access the contacts? I don't see that option.

Have a iphone 7 and Huawei watch

I believe it asked me when I first ran the app but you can go to setting\ scroll down to android wear click on it and it will show you what that app has access to.

Thanks, that was already enabled...but I don't see any functions that use Contacts, do you?
