The (Gmail) contacts on my Android phone have become a bit annoying. A number of contacts have vanished, their phone numbers being left unnamed in the call history. Nearly all contact photos attached to them over the years have gone. Some contacts with changes to details have been merged, so that they may, for instance, have both a discarded and a new phone number.
The contacts arrived on the phone when I switched from a Windows phone about two years ago. Contacts have disappeared from the Outlook app, but not so many. They've kept their photos.
This app seems to be synching successfully with Microsoft contacts on my Windows 10 laptop. These apps both include contacts added to the Gmail contacts, but which have vanished from Gmail.
I'm confused, and would be grateful for any suggestions.
