Welcome to Android Central! It's not the chip that's important -- it's which network bands the phone supports. Look up the specs of your exact phone model on the web (GSMArena.com is a good resource), then do a search for "[carrier name] network bands" for the carrier you're interested in, and make sure there's good overlap.
