When making Whatsapp video call in Note 9, you have to quickly press the video button to cut off the front cam, thus the other viewer is still able to see you for a split second. Is there any way to turn off the front cam so that when making a video call, the other party can't see you right from the start and only sees a black screen?

Revoke the camera permissions in the app

Which defeats the purpose of the video call.

I can only assume this is so the person receiving the call can't see the person calling them. If you start out as a regular call in Whatsapp, can't you convert it to a video call? I don't use Whatsapp much so I simply don't know.

If revoking the permission stops the app working, you could cover the camera lens.

I don't WhatsApp either but yeah I think it covers all the bases, calls, texts and video calls.

hallux I guess it would be for outgoing calls as well, because if incoming calls answered immediately could you imagine what it might catch? Hahaha. I don't understand the need for not allowing the intended to see you if you were calling them, I mean it's not like they wouldn't know who was calling them tho. So maybe it is incoming??? Wouldn't want them to know where you were, or what you were doing??? IDK, neither makes sense to me but as stated before, I don't WhatsApp.

Either way a thumb would probably do wonders.
