After failed attempts at installing a wet fit screen protector to my new S10, my last attempt was hampered by none of that liquid left. I read somewere it is just washing up liquid and water, so I made my own. A small glass of water with about 3 drops of washing up liquid, mixed it up then poured some in the spray bottle and applied.

It seems to have worked fine, but now wondering if the washing up liquid will degrade the oleophobic coating?

I presume the washing up liquid will evaporate, but will it have done any damage?

Definitely not a good idea. Use a proprietary screen cleaner, washing up liquid is too aggressive

Just in general, is washing my phone off in warm water and a bit of soap OK for the phone?

In general, no. I wouldn't do it myself anyway. Manufacturers advertise water resistance, but IMO it's more of a fail-safe in case you drop your device in a puddle than than it is a license to dunk it in water.

Running water brings with it pressure, devices are rated with still water rather than running water. Soap just adds another "layer" to that, I just wouldn't go there...

Treat the water resistant as a safty net if a accident were to happen.
