Changed my PIN, then TURNED phone off and it came back on approx 10 mins later?

I changed my pin , turned phone off , went to work and phone was switched on, my partner is adamant they never touched phone, is there another explanation

As belodion mentioned, if your Automatically Lock interval is set to a relatively long period of time (like 10 minutes), that means that for 10 minutes after the screen goes off, it's still unlocked. Set the Automatically Lock interval to a very short time (like 10 seconds), and also set it so that pressing the Power button automatically locks the phone.
