Why does my Barclays banking app not work on my phone

[Android Central Question]

I have a Huawei mate S phone (CRR-L09). I have the Barclays banking app on the phone. It used to work on the phone but now it doesn't for some reason. When I enter my passcode it just goes on constant loop back to the page where I enter my passcode, so never logging in. I've tried deleting and reinstalling it many times, but it doesn't make a difference. Even the bank can't work it out why it doesn't work. I'm on Android 5.1.1 version which is fine.

I think the andriod version your on is causing compatibility issues , its very old Andriod version.

Welcome to Android Central! The Barclays US app requires at least Nougat: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.barclaycardus. If you're using a Barclays app for a different region, check the Play Store listing for the system requirements.

It seems Huawei updated the phone to Marshmallow so I'm not sure why the phone won't update but it's still not new enough for the banking app.

Most manufacturers stop updating their devices after about 2 years at the most. In addition, most non-flagship devices won't get any major system update at all. Lollipop will probably lose more and more support from app developers, so you should probably look into upgrading to a more current phone.
