Why does my Samsung Galaxy S4 default to speakerphone?

[Android Central Question]

Good morning! For the last 10 days or so, all of the incoming & outgoing calls on my Samsung Galaxy S4, (Anroid version 5.0.1), have been defaulting to speakerphone. I unchecked the auto speaker phone feature in the S-Voice app. When that didn’t work, I disabled the S-Voice app, but the default speakerphone problem lives on. Any suggestions?
