Hi! I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S10e from a local cellphone repair shop. Phone is locked to T-Mobile USA network. I've called T-Mobile, verified it's eligible to unlock, however I'm unable to unlock via the normal means (request network unlock through Settings->Connections->More Connection Settings->Network Unlock->Permanent unlock).

I'm looking for recommendations for an online unlock vendor -- the phone apparently needs to be cable-unlocked (there's no way I can find to input a code when I plug in my non-T-mobile SIM card). Who have you used that has worked?? Thanks in advance!

Tmobile usually has device unlocked app and once done properly it will say unlocked permanently in the app

    HI mustang7757,

I registered just after I posted.

Anyhow, there's no T-Mobile Device Unlock app on the phone (and I can't seem to find it in the Play Store either). That was the first thing the tech support guy I spoke to tried to have me run. Think it's possible the app is hidden somehow?

    Thanks!

We don't usually recommend 'vendors' for this as most or all carriers will unlock the device for free as long as it meets the requirements for such. Here's T-Mobile's support page for this - https://www.t-mobile.com/support/dev...ireless-device

It seems newer devices don't require the app but it seems you've already tried the process listed there.

    Hi welcome!

Can you post a screen shot in settings >about phone >software information?

No SIM in it right now -- I'm trying to unlock it from T-Mobile so I can use a different network (Cricket). Honestly until you mentioned Straight Talk I'd never heard of them as a provider -- maybe that's who I should be contacting to unlock?

No , it has to be Tmobile, lot of these 3rd party unlock phone service aren't capable to unlock Tmobile phones

Ok. Worst-case I can switch to T-mobile for a bit I guess. When I spoke with their support they said the tier 2 support people would only be able to help if I have a T-mobile account. Was hoping to avoid making that switch, but it might end up being the easiest way to get this one unlocked.

Out of curiosity, where did you pick up the Straight Talk info from?

When I looked over your software page it looked like someone used a straight talk sim for Tmobile
