Moto G4 plus No SIM card - No service error after android 8.1.0 update

Upgraded to android 8.1.0 (oreo) through Motorola rescue and smart assistant tool. Now No SIM card - No service showing on home screen. Both the SIM slots greyed out in settings. IMEI number showing correctly in about phone option. Need help!

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be clear -- you have a valid SIM card inserted? Which carrier? Can you test the card in another device, or do you have another SIM you can test on your G4 Plus?
