Forgot password on lockscreen

[Android Central Question]

I have an Honor 7x. I am able to get into my phone with the fingerprint scan. Huawei use to require a password to get in every few days, even if you had the fingerprint entry. They stopped that requirement a few months back and of course now I forgot the password. I am worried if there is a restart on the phone the fingerprint no longer works and I need the forgotten password. Any way to retrieve the password?

Only way is factory reset the phone , and reset the password.

Welcome to Android Central! That's strange, because I thought all Android devices require the user to periodically enter the backup PIN/password when using fingerprint, as an extra layer of security.

I'm not sure that's available on older Andriod version if they on it .

Just make sure you know your Google account password before doing the reset.
