dm client update will not complete

[Android Central Question]

wiped cache, not a resolution, failure to update heats up phone and drains battery and restarts update after forced stop...

Welcome to Android Central! Try clearing the app cache/storage for Download Manager. To find it, go to Settings>Apps​, then tap Menu>Show System.
