Lost Folders of Saved Home Screens

[Android Central Question]

Hello
I put my saved "Add to Home Screen" links to, topic related folders.
Today all "Add to Home Screen" links are gone.????????
Links saved as "Add to Home Screen" placed in folders that contain Apps were also gone but the folder remained with only the Apps' in it. ???????
Any one know what has happened.
Very much would appreciate input.

What I've noticed if using Nova launcher and saving Chrome pages to home screen as short cut and go back to stock launcher it won't be there or vice versa.

The launcher keeps its own home pages - there's no "home pages" stored on the phone itself.

I wonder if this might have also been due to some big update for the browser.

I've been saving a couple of links in Chrome, Firefox and Opera for years (you do that when you develop websites - different browsers show different things) for a few years (going back to Gingerbread), and I still have the links as shortcuts on Nova for years now. (I think I used the native launcher in Gingerbread, but who remembers?)
