How do I fix "fancy" text/fonts looking like boxes on my Android (7.1) device?

This is an issue I've primarily experienced on the Discord app as people tend to have names written in unique font-families there: these fonts look like the outlined boxes you've probably seen a couple times before. Is there a way to add support for more font-families on Android? If it is of help, my device is rooted. Thanks in advance for your time!

Welcome to the forums. Many people use different apps to include fancy fonts in their usernames in apps like Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Facebook and whatnot. Unfortunately all apps that I know require Android 8.0 and above.

I guess there's a limitation in older Android versions so you can't use these apps or see those fonts properly.
