How to tshoot? My tablet will connect to some sites but not others

[Android Central Question]

After comcast internet was restored a few days, neither of my Samsung tablets can reach certain websites. Since these websites are reachable on my desktop and laptop, I suspect a DNS problem.

Following online advice, I selected the active network, then settings. But the advanced subpanel only shows controls for metered connections., but can't find the dns setting in the control panels. The newer tablet is model SM-1290.

So two questions:

- Am i wrong about DNS? What else can I investigate?
- If it MIGHT be dns, how can I inspect / modify

Welcome to Android Central! Try changing your DNS to Google's or Cloudflare's: The Ultimate Guide to Changing Your DNS Server. Google's are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, while CloudFlare's is 1.1.1.1.
