Previously, the installed APP could be found in This PC\MI 6\Internal shared storage\Android\.... . After it was updated to Android 9, the installed APP folder cannot be located. Can anyone address that?

Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about the app's data storage location, or the location where the actual app files are installed? If the phone isn't rooted, you won't be able to access the latter, since that's a protected system directory.

Where is the installed APP located (rooted Android 9)?

The installed App used to be located in \Internal shared storage\Android\data\com....

When it was updated to Android 9 or even earlier version (the phone has been rooted), the installed App folder is not located in the \Android\data\.... anymore. Can anyone help show how to find the location (folder) of the installed App under a rooted Android 9?

Thanks.

B. Diddy gave you the answer in Post #3.

I merged another duplicate thread where the OP did mention they had rooted the phone.

Then the files may be in /data/data/<the app's name>. Except for data files, which may or may not be there. (An app is data to Android, remember, which is basically a Java interpreter.)

You using a rooted file manager ?
What was the apps name? Was it a system app you deleted?

I figured it out online:
In Google’s official document of “Android 8.0 Behavior Changes”, it mentioned:
You can no longer assume that APKs reside in directories whose names end in -1 or -2. Apps should usesourceDir to get the directory, and not rely on the directory format directly.

It changed after Android Oreo.
