Android Central Question

It appears that Google Play is not supported any more. I have a Google Pixel 3 XL and Google Play was the only app/portal that I could download and play my personal music files on that I knew. Can you recommend and alternative to Google Play? Please advise. Thank you,

Welcome to Android Central! First, if you have any music saved to your Google Play Music library, you can download it to your computer: https://support.google.com/youtubemusic/thread/62843644?hl=en

There are many good 3rd party music players out there. PowerAmp is one of the best and well-established.

Music that is/was in your library in the cloud on Play Music? You should be able to migrate your library to YouTube Music, the replacement for Play Music, per the emails you should have received over the last 6 weeks or so.

If the music is already on your phone because you just copied the files to it, look for any number of music players in the Play Store. I believe WinAMP (or was it Poweramp as suggested by @B. Diddy?) is, or was anyway, a popular one.
