How to update tablet

What tablet? Most likely there is no update from the manufacturer to go past KitKat. What does this mean? You would either need to explore 3rd-party ROMs, but that is not without risk and the results are sometimes not great.

A device that old is not going to perform well when an OS new enough that's worthwhile upgrading to is installed. What do I mean? Just upgrading to Lollipop is a band-aid, you'd be better off looking for Marshmallow or even Nougat.

I'd explore looking for a more recent device. There are lots of budget-oriented tablets on the market (Samsung sells several levels of tablets for different price points, but you get what you pay for) that will have a more recent OS and longer-term app support as a result, and they were designed with the more recent OS's in mind. But don't get one with less than 64 GB of storage.

If you have kit kat , I recommend moving on from that device it's far too outdated. Even if you go next version up still outdated
