[Android Central Question]

I just recently got the phone for Christmas. I took a few photos and installed maybe 5 apps. I went to the list of space to see what is allocating space and there is only a few gigs on it. If I try to send more music it stops, and the phone indicates its full.

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you get the phone from -- was it directly from Samsung or a reputable retailer, or from a random online seller? Clone/knockoff phones are common, and usually have much less storage than advertised.

Am I missing something? this does not add up by my calculations. If sending files it shows no space. The phone is new and only a few things have been installed.

This is not even close to filling up the 512gb on the phone , you download almost 11gb of Audio.
Where do you see it's full your storage?

Available storage is only 2.73GB. I'm wondering if this is a knock off.

I believe this photo shows very little space being occupied. I sent a large amount of music by cutting and pasting the music all at once... Did this fill the memory? I cleared the cache it was only a few mb. Someone called while the music was sending and I interrupted it from sending all the music I believe. If it did not finish sending. Would this mess up the display of allocating space? I do not see why it doesn't not show available space to be around 451g. The phone is new should I try a factory reset?

Can you tell us where the phone was obtained? Galactic Zoo and I mentioned before that knockoff/clone phones often claim to have much more storage than they actually have -- it's pretty easy to tweak the system to report false information.

Bad sign right there. Was it Sold and Fulfilled by Amazon, or was it completely through a 3rd party seller?

If you watch videos from the YouTuber SMOOREZ, you can see how easy it is for a phone to fake its specs. He likes to get cheap clones from places like Wish and Joom, then show how much they lie, using a variety of system info apps.

At this point, you may want to complain to Amazon and initiate a return.

Go to settings>about phone>status info> does it say official?
