Bootloader and Rooting on Prepaid Samsung Galaxy A11

Hello. I have deleted text messages I'm trying to retrieve from my Samsung Galaxy A11 internal storage. I have downloaded several software programs and I'd like to purchase one to complete this but everything I'm reading says I have to root it first. I have also tried to root but it fails and from my understanding I can't root it without unlocking bootloader. If I do unlock bootloader would I still be able to pull any of the deleted data using data recovery software?

Once you unlock the bootloader it wipes all data on the device, if you were already Rooted it be different story, you sure no cloud back up u saved your data?
